Bookmarks open in a modal — you never leave the dashboard.

Clipboard auto-detection

When you open the Add Bookmark modal, StashSync.app checks your clipboard. If it contains a valid URL (https:// or http://), it is automatically pasted into the URL field and the preview is fetched immediately.

URL field

Type or paste a URL into the URL field. The preview fetches automatically when you:

  • Press Enter in the URL field
  • Click outside the field (on blur)

An external link icon appears next to the URL field once a URL is entered — click it to open the page in a new tab.

Auto-fetched metadata

After a URL is entered, StashSync.app fetches the page in the background and fills in:

  • Title — the page's <title> tag
  • Description — the og:description or meta description
  • Preview image — the og:image or a favicon

A preview card with the domain, image, title, and description is shown inside the modal as soon as metadata loads.

Fetching metadata requires an internet connection. If you add a bookmark while offline, the URL is saved immediately but the title and preview image will be populated the next time you're online.

Editing title and description

When metadata is successfully fetched, the title and description fields are replaced by the preview card to keep the modal clean. To edit them manually, click "Edit title & description…" below the preview card to reveal the input fields. Your edits override the auto-fetched values.

If no metadata was fetched, the title and description fields are always visible.

Stash

Click the Stash field to open a stash picker. You can assign the bookmark to an existing stash or type a name to create a new stash inline.

Tags

Click Add tag to open the tag picker. Select existing tags or type a name to create a new tag inline. Click × on a tag chip to remove it.
